But interestingly. The curse gave him superhuman strength, but Ashitaka was predicted to die from it. On his way to seek healing, Ashitaka met a god in the form of a wolf and a woman known as Princess Mononoke.

Thanks to the success of this film, Princess Mononoke was rewarded with the highest income in Japan that year, before being displaced a month later by Titanic. Its net income in Japan is 14.5 billion Yen.
